The St JOHN Restaurant Group is looking for an experienced head baker/ bakery manager to ensure that their bakery operation operates smoothly, efficiently and cost effectively and in line with the philosophy of St JOHN.

This is a very hands on role that requires the suitable individual to be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills such as enhanced operation skills and knowledge, being commercially minded and being able to lead and manage a team.

Experience required

-Minimum 2 years’ experience as a head baker or above in a renowned establishment

-Experience working within strict budgets and managing margins

-Thorough understanding of statutory commitment of ensuring safe standards of work and hygiene standards

-A clear background of producing exceptional products

-Experience of training and coaching at one to one level

Personal Attributes

-Able to demonstrate highly developed organisational skills

-Strong proven leadership abilities

-Demonstrates highly developed communication skills both verbal and written

-Demonstrated an ability to familiarise and settle into a team whilst ensuring a conducive working environment

-Being self-confident and passionate about breads & bakery products and also the wider food/restaurant environment

-Is seen as a role model and leads by example

  • PART TIME INTERN OPPORTUNITY - We are looking for bright, enthusiastic people to work on a two day a week, three month basis gaining experience in our small and friendly general office, helping with events and the many diverse responsibilities that we hold.  The position is currently filled but we welcome CVs for future consideration.
